INVERTER AND MOTOR DRIVE TECHNOLOGY AND RELATED OPPORTUNITIES FOR
COLLABORATION The Department of Energy (DOE) is sponsoring a briefing
and laboratory tour to acquaint U.S. industries with new power inverter
and motor drive technologies developed under their sponsorship and with
opportunities for U.S. industries to collaborate with the Oak Ridge
National Laboratory (ORNL) on related research projects. The two-day
event will be hosted by the ORNL Power Electronics Center (PEC)
starting November 9, 1995. Briefing objectives are to find new
applications for this technology, to promote collaborative
participation by U.S. industries, and to ensure equitable dissemination
of ORNL research information. The briefing will be at the Pollard
Auditorium in Oak Ridge, Tennessee on November 9; tours of the PEC Lab
at the K-25 Plant will start at the Garden Plaza Hotel on November 10.
To participate in the PEC Lab tour non-U.S. Citizens must complete a
special form (contact the PEC Secretary to receive a facsimile of the
form) and return it by October 19 to LMES, Attn: Conference Secretary,
P.O. Box 2003, Building K-1008F, Oak Ridge, TN 37831-7258. The
pre-registration fee is $85 through October 13 and $100 after. View
