The Contractor shall have at least five (5) years experience in rewinding motors. The Contractor shall supply documentation of experience in repair and rewinding medium voltage (13.2KV), high speed (3600 RPM), Cylindrical Rotor Synchronous Machines of the 10,000 to 20,000 horsepower range of the turbine generator type design. The Contractor's experience shall cover a period of 5 or more years. The Contractor shall also supply a list of at least three (3) previous projects, indicating customer name, order numbers, referrals and points of contact. The work to be performed under this project shall consist of providing the services, labor, equipment and materials necessary to remove, rewind, test and install the existing NASA Lewis Research Center's High Speed (3600 RPM), 13.8KV Synchronous Drive Motors E41 and E43. The existing Synchronous Motors are enclosed, self-ventilated, Class B insulated, two pedestal pressure lubricated bearing machine, mounted on soleplates, with double shaft extentions arranged for direct coupling to compressors/exhausters. The motor was designed in accordance with 1950's standard of AIEE and NEMA. All responsible sources may submit a bid which shall be considered by the Lewis Center. Request for copies of this procurement should be received as soon as possible in order to facilitate mailing of same to the extent copies are available. A fixed price contract is contemplated. The estimated cost of this procurement is between $500,000 and $1,000,000. This procurement is 100 percent labor surplus area set-aside.
