66 -- INSTRUMENT AND LABORATORY EQUIPMENT SOL FCGS-X5-94-0039-1-N DUE 110395 POC Novelene Burns, (703) 305-6201; FAX (703) 305-5537 The Scientific Equipment Division invites you to participate in the first open Season covering Federal supply schedule group 66, part II, section a, instruments and laboratory equipment, for the period October 1, 1996 (ordate of award whichever is later) through deptember 30, 1999. Solicitation to issue on or about December 12, 1995, closing January 11, 1996. This is athree year contract with one open Season. This will be an indefinite delivery indefinite quantity contract, FOB destination. There is a guaranteed $100 minimum in purchases over the life of the contract. Use of the schedule will be on nonmandatory basis. All contracts under this multiple award schedule Solicitation will include an option to extend the terms of the contract an additional five years. Contractors will be encouraged to traansmit their file submissions electronically through the EDI Government facnet system using avalue added network (Van). The necessary format and information will be provided on diskette to contractors who are not EDI capable. Time of implimentation is scheduled for the second quarter of fiscal year 1997. New ordering procedures permit agencies to place orders under $2,500 a implifiedbest value determination is required. To assist the customer agencies to determine when they should seek a price decrease a level called a maximum order will be established under each Co9ntract. When an agency order exceeds this amount It is recommended that the agency contact the vendor for a reduced price. Vendors will not be obligated to accept these for a reduced price. Vendors will not be obligated to accept these orders in accordance with FAR 52.216-19.
