Soderstrom, (202) 685-3160 THIS IS A PRESOLICITATION NOTICE TO NOTIFY INTERESTED PARTIES OF THE FOLLOWING: The Engineering Field Activity, Chesapeake will be issuing a request for proposal on or about 15 November 1995 for the renovation of Building 33, Washington Navy Yard, Washington, DC. This project is a BRAC 93 project whereby NAVFAC Headquarters will be relocated to the Washington Navy Yard. The government will hold a presolicitation conference at Building 212, Washington Navy Yard, Washington, DC on 19 October 1995 at 10:00 AM. The purpose of the meeting is to provide a short overview of a relatively new concept called ''greening'', defined as a building design which takes into consideration energy efficiencies, environmental efficiencies and ecological concerns into consideration into the overall design. The agency seeks to determine from the design/build construction industry the level of difficulty and complexity that would be required to design/construct the ''greening'' portion of the renovation of Building 33.
