Destn: Mc Clellan Air Force Base Ca 95652-1326. Item 0002 17. This is a market survey (MS95262-02) under the Competition in Contracting Act, effective 1 April 1985. This is not an Request For Proposal (RFP) or Invitation For Bid (IFB). Solicitation is not available. The following descriptions are offered as a basis in which to formulate a reply to this survey. The Sacramento Air Logistics Center (SM-ALC) intends to establish a prequalification requirement for NSN: 6110-01-229-3383, Voltage Regulator, used on the 750 KW Generator Set (MEP-012A). The Regulator is a Source Control drawing (Dwg 85-33043 CAGE 30554) with Basler Electric Co. as a sole source supplier. The Regulator characteristic to control generator frequency and voltage are referenced in the Engineering Specification (ES Voltage are referenced in the Engineering Specification (ES 930228). As part of the prequalification requirement, SM-ALC/LIEE engineering activity has determined that the regulator must undergo extensive tests on the generator set for critical frequency/voltage regulation parameter. Expensive and time consuming Government testing will have major impact in prequalifying another source. Estimated costs for Government testing is $142,200.00. All costs, including Government testing, must be incurred by the prospective contractor, and the prequalification requirement must be completed out of contract at no cost to the Government.
