Provide all labor, material and equipment to perform rountine drydock
repairs to the USCGC WEDGE (WLR 75307) and its barge. The major items
which may be performed include but are not limited to the following: 1.
Welding repairs, 2. Preserve barge spud well and renew liners, 3.
Remove, inspect and reinstall propeller shaft, 4. Overhaul, renew and
test valves, 5. Remove, inspect and reinstall rudder assemblies, 6.
Overhaul steering hydraulics system, 7. Overhaul air capstan, 8.
Preserve barge buoy boat deck, 9. Temporary Logistics, 10. Rountine
drydocking, 11. Realign main engine, 12. Renew longitudinal framing &
plating, 13. Replace hatches, 14. Replace fuel oil piping, vavles &
associated fittings, 15. Install 2-ton derrick, 16. Replace
searchlights, 17. Preserve lazarette, 18. Renew wasted metal in tender
port side F/O tank etc. Vessel homeport is Demopolis, AL. Vessel
lenght is 75' and barge length is 90'. Vessel availability schedule is
15 January 96 for 53 days. The place of performance is restircted to
the Western Rivers of the United States. The ''Western River'' means
the navigable portions of Mississippi River and its tributaries above
mile 0 of the Lower Mississippi River. Navigable tributaries of the
Mississipi River include only the waterways within the areas of
jurisdiction of Coast Guard Aids to Navigation Facilities as described
in Light List Volume V (COMDTINST M16502.5), and the
Tennessee-Tombigbee Waterway to the mouth of the Mobile River. This
includes protected portions of the Intra Coastal Waterway connected to
the ''Western Rivers'', but specifically excludes unprotected or open
waters such as Mobile Bay, Lake Borne, or the Gulf of Mexico. There
will be a non-refundable charge required in the form of a certified
check or money order made payable to the U.S) Coast Guard in the amount
of $100.00 for requested USCG specification reference drawings. The
proposed contract listed here is part of the Small Business
Competitiveness Demonstration Program and is opne to both large an
small business. Plans and specfifications will be issued on or after 14
July 1995. All responsible sources may submit a bid whch shall be
considered by the United States Coas Guard. For Minority, Women-Owned

Transportation (DOT) Officer of Small and Disadvantaged Business
Utilization has programs to assist Minority, Women-Owned and
Disadvantaged Business Enterprises to acquire short term working
captial and bonding assistance for transportation-related contracts.
Loans are available under the DOT Short Term Lending Program (STLP) at
prime interest rates up to $500,000 per contract to provide accounts
receiving financing. The DOT Bonding Assistance Program enable firms to
apply for bid, performance and payment bonds up to $500,000 per
contract. DOT provides an 80 percent guaranty on the bond amount to a
