Pittsburgh Energy Technology Center (PETC) announces a site
tour/presolicitation conference supporting a small business set-aside
acquisition of Research, Development, Demonstration, and Management
Services at the Western Environmental Technology Office (WETO) in
Butte, Montana. Although the formal Request for Proposal (RFP) is not
expected to be released until early 1996, PETC, in an attempt to reduce
the effects of inclement weather, is hosting a one day WETO site
tour/presolicitation conference on Wednesday, November 15, 1995.
Prospective bidders are encouraged to attend the site
tour/presolicitation conference to familiarize themselves with general
and local conditions that would affect performance of the contract.
Advance reservations for the site tour/presolicitation conference are
required and restricted to two representatives per company due to
limited accommodations. The site tour reservation form may be obtained
by writing to David L. Hunter, U.S. Department of Energy, Pittsburgh
Energy Technology Center, P.O. Box 10940, MS 921-143, Pittsburgh, PA,
15236-0940, or by fax to David Hunter at 412/892-6216. PETC intends to
release a draft of the RFP on or before the site tour date. A copy of
this draft RFP may be obtained by letter or fax to David Hunter as
indicated above. No telephone requests for the draft RFP will be
accepted. Those entities responding to the sources sought announcement
should already be included on the mailing list for the draft RFP. The
draft RFP will be issued in Wordperfect 5.1 format on a 3.5 inch, high
density computer diskette. The proposed contract would be to provide
research, development, demonstration, and management services utilizing
the WETO as Government furnished facilities. It is noted that the
resulting contract will not be a Management and Operating contract
under DOE regulations. The Contract would include the following work:
1) maintenance, operation, and management of the existing
Government-owned facility, 2) continuation of varied DOE Office of
Science nd Technology research, development, demonstration, and
evaluation projects, and 3) development of related environmental
technologies funded by other entities. Technologies currently
emphasized at WETO include the cleanup of water and soils, waste
minimization and pollution prevention, and vitrification
demonstrations. The size standard for this small business set-aside is
