C -- DESIGN DEVELOPMENT FOR SICU/PCU SOL RFP 589-39-95 DUE 102095 POC Contracting Officer, Charlene Webster, (816)922-2062 A/E services required to perform design development to build a new SICU/PCU at the Department of Veterans Affairs, Kansas Cit, MO. The A/E shall provide the services of a certified industrial hygienist (CIH) to conduct a survey to identify and locate any asbestos in the defined areas. The A/E shall provide 3 conceptuals. Design development should be completed 100 days after award. A/E firms who do not have sufficient resources to provide the asbestos abatement need not apply. The estimated construction cost is between $2,000,000 and $5,000,000. Area consideration is restricted to small business within a 50 mile radius of Kansas City, MO. Selection will be based on the following criteria: Recent specialized experience of the firm in type of work; required professional capacity of the firm to accomplish the contemplated work within the time and cost limitations; professional qualifications of the staff subcontractors and consultants to be assigned to the project. At the discretion of the VA and upon completion of the design development the VA may wish to negotiate with the A/E firm to provide construction documents and other services in accordance with the scope of work, however, this provision is purely optional. A/E firms desiring consideration shall submit SF 254's/SF 255's NLT 10/20/95. This is not a request for proposals. Contract award subject to availability of funds. (0264)
