D -- CISCO ROUTER MAINTENANCE SOL W111111A3 DUE 110695 POC Contact Point, Patrick Drissel, (202)260-0799, Contracting Officer, Patrick Drissel, (202)260-0799 The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) intends to procure Cisco Smartnet Maintenance services for network routers manufactured by Cisco Corporation for a base period with four optional years, from Cisco Corporation. Maintenance services shall provide for the following: Free major software releases; free software maintenance releases; 24 hour/7 days a week emergency network down telephone support; guaranteed next-business-day delivery of replacement parts, provided the request is prior to 6 PM Pacific time; one hour telephone response for technical support for non-emergency questions regarding hardware, configuration, and software problems, 8-5 pm weekdays; and documentation updates and access to Customer Information Online (CIO) system. Equipment and estimated quantities (in parentheses) requiring support include the following: Cisco Model No. 2513 (24); Cisco Model No. 2514 (14); Cisco Model No. 2515 (3); Cisco Model No. 7000 (37); and Cisco Model No. 7010 (18). The equipment is located at various EPA locations nationwide. The EPA is not aware of any other source which can provide service for the above specified equipment. The intent of this synopsis is to determine if any other source(s) exist. No solicitation is available. All interested parties must respond within 45 days of the date of this announcement. The last day for receipt of written responses is November 6, 1995. Offerors who assert the ability to provide this support must substantiate their ability to do so and provide the following information: 1) evidence of ability to provide the maintenance services detailed above, including evidence of ability to provide replacements within the above specified times; 2) three current references for equipment, quantities, and maintenance services comparable to those above, at least one of which must be specifically for Cisco equipment of the type reference above; 3) evidence of arrangement with OEM to acquire engineering changes and software updates/upgrades; and itemized pricing that is sufficient to make a determination that competition is feasible. Writen responses in the form of a routine letter requesting a copy of a solicitation will be ignored. Responses shall be submitted to U.S. Environmental Protection Agency, Attention: Patrick Drissel (3803F), 401 M Street, S.W. Washington, D.C. 20460. Vendors' response shall be in writing and reference ''Cisco Router Maintenance.'' Telephone requests will not be honored. See Note 22. (0261)
