Conaway, Contracting Officer, (816)426-7267 ext. 232 Services to perform the augmentation of the Automated Surface Observing System (ASOS), backup of essential elements of the ASOS and the data continuity program at the National Weather Service Contract Office at Valentine, NE. The successful contractor will be required to provide a minimum of one National Weather Service certified ASOS cooperator to augment and backup essential elements of ASOS on a continuous basis, 8 hours daily Monday through Friday from 5:00 AM to 1:00 PM. The augmenter program consists of manually adding data to an automated surface weather observation program that is beyond the observing capability of ASOS. The backup program consists of evaluation and reporting data normally evaluated and reported by ASOS. The base period of this contract will be a ten-month period from Dec. 1, 1995 to Sep 30, 1996 with one option twelve-month period from Oct 1, 1996 to Sep 30, 1997. The total duration of the contract may not exceed twenty-two months. Solicitation will be issued on or about Oct 5, 1995. This is a total small business set aside. SIC code 8999 applies.
