COMMERCE BUSINESS DAILY ISSUE OF SEPTEMBER 14,1995 PSA#1431PUBLIC REQUEST FOR TECHNICAL INFORMATION ON AIR FORCE TECHNOLOGY AREA
PLANNING (TAP) IN SUPPORT OF MISSION AREA PLANS (MAP) POC Mr Bob Peach,
Phillips Lab Tech. Planning Division, PL/PKX, 505-846-1685. The USAF
Phillips Laboratory invites interested representatives from industry to
join us in support of TAP and MAP process for FY97. Information
provided will form the basis of government space concept and technology
recommendations for inclusion in the Air Force Science and Technologies
Program Objective Memoranda (POM), AFSPC MAP, AFSPC modernization
planning and AFSPC POM. Once again we are soliciting industry input
into the MAP and TAP process to be integrated into the USAF Laboratory
annual planning process. This cycle will address the specific plans
for the FY97 TAP and FY98 POM. The specific form of feedback requested
will be presented at the SPR. The Strategic Opportunities Review (SOR)
has been renamed the Strategic Planning Review (SPR) to more accurately
reflect the nature of the activity and what we hope to accomplish. The
emphasis is on technology planning. At the SPR, user and major command
planners will present the prioritized mission area deficiencies,
solution requirements, concept descriptions, and technology needs. It
is requested that industry attendees be the engineers and scientists
involved in your company's technology programs and planning. These
participants should be knowledgeable of and able to understand the
technical issues. This is a request for information only, NOT A REQUEST
FOR PROPOSAL, and as such does not commit the Government to pay for any
costs incurred. THIS IS A PLANNING PROCESS AND IN NO WAY IS TO BE
CONSTRUED AS A SOLICITATION. As always, contracting opportunities
resulting from this planning are presented during the annual PL
Briefing For Industry (BFI). The Strategic Planning Review will be held
on 3 October 1995 at the East Movie Theater, Bldg. 20225 (1st & G
