JAPAN: FERTILIZER The following notification is being circulated in accordance with Article 10.6. G/TBT/Notif. 95.259. 1. Member to Agreement notifying: Japan. If applicable, name of local government involved (Articles 3.2 and 7.2): 2. Agency responsible: Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries. 3. Notified under Article 2.9.2. 4. Products covered (HS or CCCN where applicable, otherwise national tariff heading. ICS numbers may be provided in addition, where applicable): Fertilizer (HS:3101, 3104, 3105). 5. Title and number of pages of the notified document: Amendment to the Official Standards for Ordinary Fertilizers (available in Japanese, 5 pages). 6. Description of content: (1) To amend the standards for the following substances: Fluid nitrogen fertilizer, Potassium bicarbonate, Potassium silicate fertilizer, Fluid mixed fertilizer. (2) To establish the standard for the magnesium carbonate fertilizer. 7. Objective and rationale: To amend the Official Standards for Ordinary Fertilizers, in response to change of farmer's need for fertilizers, and to a request from producers of fertilizers. 8. Relevant documents: The basic law is Fertilizer Control Law. The said standards will appear in ``KAMPO'' (Official Government Gazette) when adopted. 9.
