A -- RESEARCH AND DEVELOPMENT SOL N00024-95-R POC (0254), C. CIRINO, Contracting Officer, (703) 602-8100. PART 1 OF 2 Navy Advanced Technology Demonstrations (ATDs): POC T. Ready, Assistant to the Technical Director, Program Executive Office for Theater Air Defense (PEO(TAD)), (703) 602-1822 x211 and R. Britton, Director of Advanced Technology, Direct reporting Program Manager (AEGIS) (DRPM(AEGIS)), (703) 602-7296 x248. The goal of the Advanced Technology Demonstration (ATD) Program is to demonstrate, in an operational context, high-risk/high-payoff technologies that could significantly impact future Department of the Navy (DON) warfighting or warfighting support capabilities. In support of the DON FY98 ATD Program solicitation being conducted by the Office of Naval Research (Commerce Business Daily Issue 08-24-95, PSA#1417), PEO(TAD) and DRPM(AEGIS) are jointly soliciting both purely industry and joint government/industry concepts for ATDs focused on PEO(TAD)/DRPM(AEGIS) warfighting or warfighting support needs. PEO(TAD) is the Navy's acquisition command for Theater Balistic Missile Defense and Area/Ship Anti-Air Defense systems. DRPM(AEGIS) is the Navy's acquisition command for the AEGIS weapon system and AEGIS-equipped ships. To assist the Director, Naval Surface Warfare Office of the Chief of Naval Operations in his identification of concepts that should be highly considered for inclusion in the FY98 ATD Program, PEO(TAD) and DRPM(AEGIS) will evaluate government, industry, and joint government/industry concepts pertinent to PEO(TAD) and DRPM(AEGIS) needs. FY98 concepts wil also be reviewed for their potential application to the Navy's proposed Future Surface Combatant (SC-21). To help ensure that a concept that addresses a PEO(TAD)/DRPM(AEGIS) need is properly focused, PEO(TAD) and DRPM(AEGIS) strongly encourage industry and joint government/industry to participate in their evaluation process. A concept that is highly regarded by PEO(TAD)/DRPM(AEGIS) may be requested to provide a brief to the PEO(TAD)/DRPM(AEGIS) ATD evaluation panel in the mid October 1995 timeframe. If the panel determines that a concept could be enhanced by additional coordination within the DON, the submitter(s) may be encouraged to further develop the concept in conjunctin with aNaval System Command, Naval Warfare Center, or the Naval Research Laboratory. Before a final list of concepts is recommended to N86 for inclusion in the FY98 ATD Program, submitters may be requested to provide a final brief to the PEO(TAD)/DRPM(AEGIS) evaluation panel in the mid November 1995 timeframe. Concept papers should be directly submitted to the Department of the Navy, Program Excutive Office (Theater Air Defense), Attn: Mr Thomas Ready (PEO(TAD)-T), RM. 9W62, 2531 Jefferson Davis Highway, Arlington, VA 22242-5170. Strict confidentiality of proprietary information is assured to the extent permitted by Federal Law. ATD concepts must arrive no later than close of business, 2 October 1995. Submittals received after that date will not be evaluated by PEO(TAD) and DRPM(AEGIS). SEE PART 2. (0251)
