National Heart, Lung, and Blood Institute intends to purchase a OLIGO 1000M DNA Synthesizer, Part Number 267726, Manufactured by Beckman Instruments, Inc. The instruments includes: automated eight column DNA Synthesizer designed to conveniently accommodate multiple users. Six CED phosphoramidite synthesis methods are include as standard, with additional built-in methods for on-line labeling and phophorothiate and ability to PC download method for RNA and user-modified methods. Includes acetonitrile bottle safety container, large 10L waste bottle, printer output, and RS- 232 communications. The Oligo 1000M DNA Synthesizer features a built- in Trityl Monitor for the two most used scales (30 and 200 pMole) and extensive diagnostic functions to monitor the synthesis process and ensure the quality and purity of the oligonucleotides. The Star Fluidics chemical delivery system conserves the most expensive reagents, providing economical synthesis and rapid cycle times. A Reagent Credit Program is offered with the purchase which includes a credit towards the purchase of any Oligo 1000M reagents at the current list price at the time of ordering. Generic DNA Synthesis reagents are excluded from the program. Reagent credits must be redeemed within a year of instrument installation. A DNA Synthesizer, model 990PT, serial #169, is available for trade-in. It is anticipated that the Request for Quotation (RFQ) Number NHLBI-PS-SP-95-147, will be available 15 days after the publication date of this synopsis. Receipt of quotations will be due 10 days after the release of the RFQ. The anticipated award date is 09/01/95.
