Information Systems Agency (DISA) intends to negotiate on a sole source
basis with Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) for Multimedia
Standards Assessment. The period of performance will be base year with
four one year options. Each contract year will have 15 TSMS of defined
work and options years 2 and 3 will have will have 12 unfunded TSMS and
option year 4 will have 6 unfunded TSMS. MIT will perform assessments
based on the high level assessment of current national and
international standards development activity, identify major focus
areas, and develop brief summary of major causes and effects associated
with each giving particular attention to those issues or focus areas
which may require NCS intervention to insure that NS/EP Multimedia
standardization objectives are met. Conduct workshop for ''key
standards developers'', prepare a recommended strategy document for
addressing issues or standardization shortfalls, and participate in the
activities of Study Group l of the International Telecommunications
Union Standardization Sector (ITU-T Sgl) and other international
