COMMERCE BUSINESS DAILY ISSUE OF SEPTEMBER 7,1995 PSA#1426National Institute of Standards and Technology, Acquisition and
Assistance Division, Bldg. 301, Room B117, Gaithersburg, MD 20899 66 -- ACTIVE VIBRATION ISOLATION SYSTEM POC POC: Paul Cataldo (301)
975-6332/CO: Pauline Mallgrave (301) 975-6330 The National Institute of
Standards and Technology, Gaithersburg, MD is seeking sources for its
proposed 42,236 gross square meter Advanced Technology Laboratory who
can provide a desired quantity of two each of an active vibration
isolation system which can be added as an enhancement to a passive
pneumatic vibration isolation system--The purpose of the active system
is to attenuate low-frequency translational and rotational vibrations
associated with the resonances of the payload on the pneumatic
springs--This system will operate to maintain the payload in a fixed
position by actively suppressing both steady-state and transient
vibrations of the payload in all six degrees of freedom--The static
load capacity of this system shall be 2250 Kg minimum and each isolator
shall be capable of producing 9 Kg minimum resistance at its peak
output--The active vibration control frequency range shall be 0.25 Hz
to 25 Hz--Performance outside this range will be provided by the
passive pneumatic system. The active system shall exhibit amplification
of less than 1.1 (approx. 1 decibel) at its active resonance frequency
and shall provide attenuation at 2 Hz of 70 percent (approx. 10
decibels) at 2 Hz--This system shall provide a vibration settling time
on the order of 20 milliseconds--Interested sources should submit all
information necessary for the Government to fully evaluate the
proposed product and should include but not necessarily be limited to
any and all catalog cut sheets, product brochures, drawings,
calculations, and technical data which is necessary to demonstrate the
proposed product fully meets the performance and functional criteria
stated above-- Contact Paul Cataldo, National Institute of Standards
and Technology, Acquisition and Assistance Division, Building 301, Room
B117, Gaithersburg, MD 20899-0001 within 30 days of this publication.
