MK Ferguson Company (MK-F), is currently performing work under a Department of Energy Prime Contract at the Weldon Spring Site Remedial Action Project (WSSRAP) located in St. Charles, Missouri. MK-Ferguson is requesting information from prospective Subcontractors who are interested in being pre-qualified for bidding on a competitive firm fixed price contract for the design, supply, installation, supervision of startup, and training of operators of a mechanical continuous thickener. A preliminary description of the thickener requirements are: One mechanical continuous thickener with feed launder, central feed well, rake mechanism, and tank with internal overflow launder and central collection cone. Material of construction to be carbon steel. Feed launder and rake mechanism to be supported by bridge spanning the tank diameter. Rake mechanism to be supplied with drive mechanism, torque measuring device, and automatic rake lift system. Diameter of tank approximately 80 to 125 feet. Mechanism to dewater a dilute thixotropic sludge that has been diluted to 9 percent solids. Slurry feed rate is 700 gallons per minute. Only pre-qualified bidders will be allowed to submit proposals. To be pre-qualified, the submitting Subcontractor must submit, in writing, information substantiating their ability to meet or exceed the following minimum qualifications: 1) Must have the ability to design, manufacture, and install thickeners which are 80 feet or greater in diameter. 2) Must have 10 prior successful projects of this type and size. 3) Must have 10 years or more experience building equipment of this type and size. Your substantiation of the above three points must include, at a minimum, a list of 10 projects of this type and size which have been completed safely. Along with the list of projects, the following must be submitted for each of the projects referenced; a brief description of the scope of the project, address of project, date of contract start and completion, client name, and current contact person with phone number. This announcement is a replacement for an announcement which originally published Friday April 28, 1995 in Issue No. PSA-1335, Section 39. This project is open to both large and small businesses. The Pre-qualification Packages are due no later than September 27, 1995. It is anticipated that the proposal package for the above noted equipment will be issued for bid between October 1995 and January 1996. Estimated value is over $300,000.
