908-427-4465. The Fort Monmouth Chapter of the Armed Forces
Communications Electronics Association (AFCEA) will hold its 20th
annual symposium on Sept 12, 13, and 14, at the Ocean Place Hilton in
Long Branch, New Jersey. The theme for this year's symposium will be
``The Digitization of Force XXI, Joint/Coalition Warriors.'' MAJ GEN
Gerard P. Brohm, CECOM and Fort Monmouth Commanding General, is general
chairman, assisted by Victor Ferlise as deputy chairman and Fred Eisele
and Joe Pucilowski as technical chairs. The Symposium committee has
assembled an impressive group of speakers and panelists for this
one-and-a-half day symposium. Some of the notable speakers include:
Admiral Richard C. Macke, Commander-in-Chief, U.S. Pacific Command, as
keynote speaker; Emmett Paige, Jr., Assistant Secretary of Defense for
Command, Control, Communications and Intelligence as luncheon speaker
on Sept 13; and Lt. Gen. Albert J. Edmonds, U.S. Air Force, Director of
the Defense Information Systems Agency, as the banquet speaker and
Representative Frank Pallone (invited) as luncheon speaker on Sept. 14.
The three technical panels will be chaired by Brig. Gen. Morris Boyd,
Deputy Chief of Staff for Doctrine of the Army Training and Doctrine
Command (TRADOC), addressing ``Doctrinal Versatility''; Vice Admiral
Arthur Cebrowski, Director for Command, Control, Communications and
Computers, Joint Staff, addressing ``Joint Implementation''; and Brig.
Gen. David Gust, Program Executive Officer for Intelligence and
Electronic Warfare, addressing ``Allied Implementation''. Noteworthy
panelists include Lt. Gen. Otto J. Guenther, Director of Information
Systems for Command, Control, Communications and Computers, Department
of the Army; Rear Admiral Lloyd E. Allen, Jr., Director, Warfare
Systems Architecture and Engineering, Space and Naval Warfare Systems
Command; Brigadier Peter Dunn, Director General, Force Development
(Land), Australia; Dr. Paul Berenson, Scientific Advisor to the TRADOC
Commanding General; and James Skurka, Deputy to the Commander, Army
Simulation, Training and Instrumentation Command. Registration rates
are as follows: $260.00 for Industry members; $280.00 for Industry
non-member; $120 for Government-Military; $42 for extra dinner ticket;
