The National Institutes of Health intends to negotiate a sole source contract for 6 months under the authority of 41USC 253 (C) (1) with Charles River Laboratories for guinea pigs of varios quantity, sex, ages and weights. The guinea pigs from Charles River are required because many invesigators have established baseline research data by utilizing animals that were consistently obtained from Charles River Laboratories. Using a new source for guinea pigs would introduce a new variable into these projects. These guinea pigs will be used for regulatory control testing for vaccines by FDA. See Numbered Note 22 (0243)
