Businesses are being sought to furnish all resources necessary to support the safe and reliable operations of Center facilities and the protection of personnel and property. Support shall include: Industrial Hygiene--facility audits to ensure compliance with established regulations and requirements; noise dosimetry reviews/surveys; safety permitting of potentially hazardous materials use; issuance of confined space permits and identification of the Center?s confined spaces; asbestos surveillance and inspection; and technical evaluation of toxic environments, dusts and fumes, water sampling, ventilation and exhaust systems. Health Physics--health physics assessments/audits on ionizing and non-ionizing radiation sources; issuance on non-ionizing (laser) radiation and ionizing radiation safety permits. Safety and Environmental Health Training--assure the awareness of Center personnel of safety and environmental health issues; provide training and certification for Center personnel in accordance with Federal, Agency, and LaRC regulatory requirements for the various work environments. Training and certification shall include training, testing and maintenance of training records. A performance-based contract is contemplated assigning the Contractor the full responsibility for a quality performance with a total potential period of performance, including options, of 5 years, commencing October 1996. Only firms with demonstrated relevant capabilities and project experience in the full range of services described above need respond. New firms may respond by citing the experience and capabilities of individuals in the firm, based on performance and responsibility while in the employ of others.
