81 -- TANK, FIBERGLASS-REINFORCED PLASTIC SOL 142595RQ8100059 DUE 091495 POC Purchasing Agent, EVELYN BUTLER, 303-236-8040, X232 The Bureau of Reclamation, Denver Technical Center has a requirement for Cylindrical Process Tanks in accordance with the following specifications: For all items: Tank, fiberglass-reinforced plastic (FRP), cylindrical, dish bottom w/FRP support skirt and bottom lip, 316SS or FRP hold down lugs with holes, 316SS lift lugs, open top w/flanged lip and hinged bolt-down cover, hinge and all fasteners are 316SS, manufactured to ASTM-D 4097-88 specifications, premium vinyl ester-based fiberglass laminate (ATLAC 382-4010, or DOW 411, or equal) polyester resin, UV inhibitor, synthetic (Nexus or equal) veil for corrosion resistance, steam or dry post cure, exterior surface to be finished with a spray-on gel coating, two scalloped openings in the support skirt 180 degrees opposed for access to bottom piping, flanges are blade-gusseted. Tank exterior is white in color. For operation at Yuma, Arizona, in seismic zone 4. All items are for operation in a corrosive salt water environment at temperatures of 10 to 40 degreesC, and a pH range of 2 to 10. In addition, item 4 chemical tanks operate with single-chemical solutions of 15-percent sodium hypochlorite, 20-percent ferric sulfate, and 20-percent ammonium hydroxide. Before fabrication, confirm flange locations with Chuck Moody (tel: 303/236-6203 ext 234). Item 1. Clearwell tank; total quantity = 2: Volume = 750 gallons Diameter = 72 inches; Approx. height = 68 inches (including dish clearance) Dish to floor clearance = 15 inches; Radius of scalloped openings =15 inches. Hinged cover opening is over drain/outlet 1. Six FRP flanged connections. Diameters and locations: a. Inlet: 4-inch located at the lowest point of tank side and above scalloped opening. b. Drain (& outlet 1): 2-inch elbow located at center of bottom dish with outlet pointed away from inlet (toward opposing scalloped opening). c. Outlet 2: 2-inch w/blind flange located at the lowest point of tank side, 180 degree from inlet (above the opposing scalloped opening). d. Overflow: 3-inch located at tank side above inlet with flange center approx. 4 inches from top of tank. e. Liquid level sensor: Two 2-inch w/blind flange at the lowest point of the tank side; located 45 degree clockwise from the inlet and 135 degree counterclockwise from the inlet. Item 2. Backwash tank; total quantity = 1. Volume 3000 gallons. Diameter = 96 inches. Approx. height = 124 inches (including dish clearance) Dish to floor clearance = 18 inches. Radius of scalloped openings= 18 inches. If an FRP skirt is not available for this diameter, then a tank support consisting of 304SS pipe legs is acceptable. Hinged cover is split at 1/4 of tank diameter with opening over inlet. Seven FRP flanged connections. Diameters and locations: a. Inlets 1 and 2: Two 1.5-inch located approx. 12-inches apart horizontally at the top of the tank side above scalloped opening. b. Drain: 3-inch elbow located at center of bottom dish with outlet pointed toward inlet scallop. c. Outlet: 2-inch located at the lowest point of tank side, 45 degrees clockwise from inlet. d. Overflow: 3-inch located at tank side between inlets 1 and 2 directly above scalloped opening. e. Liquid level sensor: Two 2-inch w/blind flange at the lowest point of the tank side; located 135 degrees clockwise from the inlet and 45 degrees counterclockwise from the inlet. Item 3. Feed tank; total quantity = 4 Volume = 350 gal Diameter = 48 inches Approx. height = 67 inches (including dish clearance) Dish to floor clearance = 15 inches Radius of scalloped openings = 15 inches Nine FRP flanged connections. Diameters and locations: a. Inlets 1 and 2: Two 1-inch located approx. 12 inches apart horizontally at the top of the tank side and above the scalloped opening. b. Drain: 2-inch elbow located at center of bottom dish with outlet pointed toward inlet scallop. c. Outlets 1, 2, and 3: Three 1.5-inch w/blind flange located approx. 6 inches apart in a horizontal row at the lowest point of the tank side, 180 degrees from inlet (above the opposing scalloped opening). d. Overflow: 3-inch located at tank side between inlets 1 and 2 directly above scalloped opening. e. Liquid level sensor: For feed tanks 1 and 2: Two 2-inch w/blind flange at the lowest point of the tank side; one located 30 degrees counterclockwise from the inlet and one located 135 degrees counterclockwise from the inlet. For feed tanks 3 and 4: Two 2-inch w/blind flange at the lowest point of the tank side; one located 30 degrees clockwise from the inlet and one located 135 degrees clockwise from the inlet. Item 4. Chemical tank; total quantity = 4 Volume = 75 gal Diameter = 24 inches Approx. height = 59 inches (including dish clearance) Dish to floor clearance = 15 inches Radius of scalloped openings = 15 inches Four FRP flanged connections. Diameters and locations: a. Drain: 1-inch elbow located at center of bottom dish with outlet pointed toward scalloped opening. b. Overflow: 1-inch located at the top of the tank side directly above scalloped drain opening. c. Inlet: 0.5-inch w/blind flange located at the top of the tank side approx. 6 inches clockwise from the overflow. d. Outlet: 0.5-inch at the lowest point of the tank side directly below the inlet.
