notice of intent POC Contracting Officer is Ms. Donnamarie Dooley
(202) 267-8039. This announcement updates an earlier announcement
published in CBD - 950217-0447PROCURE 70. The Federal Aviation
Administration (FAA) plans to competitively award a single contract to
provide software engineering support services and software maintenance
support services to the twenty (20) Air Route Traffic Control Centers
(including two (2) Oceanic Centers), and the FAA Technical Center in
the spring-summer of 1997. This effort will ensure the continuity of
software maintenance support for the Host Computer System (HCS) and
Oceanic Display and Planning Centers (ODAPS) National Airspace System
(NAS) operational software, through planned replacement; and will
provide associated software engineering support services. The period of
performance for this effort is currently estimated to be seven (7)
years. A Request for Comment (RFC) on the statement of work and
selected attachments will be released for industry comment in late
August 1995. The RFC will be automatically be sent to those firms who
responded to CBD Announcement 950217-0447PROCURE 70. Interested firms
which did not respond to CBD Announcement 950217-0447PROCURE70 should
request a copy of the RFC in writing. The RFC will be formatted in
Microsoft Word for Windows (6.0) and provided on a diskette. Industry
responses to the RFC are preferred on a diskette in either Microsoft
Word for Windows (6.0) or Novell Word Perfect 5.1 for DOS format.
Hard-copy responses will be accepted, but are discouraged. A draft
Request for Proposal (DRFP) is scheduled for release to industry in
late November 1995. Those firms who respond to the RFC will
automatically be sent a copy of the DRFP; all others should request a
copy in writing. The Request for Proposal (RFP) is planned for release
in the late April of 1996. Contract award is projected for the May
