Contracting Officer, (513) 255-3043. This solicitation is set-aside
exclusively for small business in accordance with FAR 19.502-2(a). The
Air Force Technical Applications Center (AFTAC) has a requirement to
support the following systems: (1) seismic and hydroacoustic
instruments at field sites located worldwide, (2) hydroacoustic data
processing and analysis system at AFTAC headquarters, (3) designated
seismic stations. This requirement includes supply support, equipment
maintenance, field site depot level maintenance, government property
management, engineering support at the system and subsystem level,
technical documentation support, designated seismic station support,
and maintenance of data collection resources. The Air Force anticipates
the issuance of a basic contract for one year and four one-year
options. Offerors will be required to submit technical and cost
proposals. The Standard Industrial Code is 3829 with a size standard of
500 employees. The proposed contract is restricted to domestic sources
only. The anticipated date for release of the Request For Proposal
(RFP) is 13 Oct 95. No telephone requests for the RFP are authorized.
Only written or faxed requests received directly from the requestor are
acceptable. All responsible small business sources who submit a
proposal shall be considered by the agency. It is impractical to
distribute the applicable specifications, plans, drawings, and
historical data with the solicitation. These documents may be examined
at the technical library by appointment only. The technical library is
located at the Technical Operation Division, Building 1080, 6000 Patrol
Road, McClellan Air Force Base, CA. Contact Mr A. Brosseau at (916)
643-6005 to schedule an appointment. An Ombudsman has been established
for this acquisition. The only purpose of the Ombudsman is to receive
and communicate serious concerns from potential offerors when an
offeror prefers not to use established channels to communicate his/her
concern during the proposal development phase of this acquisition.
Potential offerors should use established channels to request
information, pose questions, and voice concerns before resorting to use
of the Ombudsman. Potential offerors are invited to contact the
