COMMERCE BUSINESS DAILY ISSUE OF AUGUST 25,1995 PSA#1418U.S. Geological Survey, Procurement and Contracts Section, Building 25,
Box 25046, MS 204C, Denver Federal Center, Denver, CO 80225 61 -- MONITORING SYSTEM FOR INTERNATIONAL POWER MACHINES
UNINTERRUPTIBLE POWER SUPPLY SOL 95-5390-3221 DUE 092895 POC Vicki
Holland, Contracting Officer, (303)236-5900 x350 Concerns having the
ability to furnish the supplies described herein are requested to give
written notification (including the telephone number for a point of
contact) to the procurement office above within thirty (30) calendar
days from the date of this synopsis. The contractor shall provide four
completely compatible monitoring systems to monitor and directly
interface with the Balanced Power Plus (BP+) batteries connected to the
International Power Machine (IPM) Uninterruptible Power Supply (UPS)
systems, including installing two tracking systems for the 225 KVA IPM
UPS and two tracking systems for the 300 KVA IPM UPS, and providing
the training to run the systems. International Power Machines was the
main UPS contractor during the Building 810 construction project. They
installed the two IPM UPS and six battery cabinets to supply the power
for building 810. All systems are currently under warranty and
maintained by IPM. Products from vendors other than IPM must not void
warranties on the UPS systems and main ADP power sources, and therefore
must be acceptable to IPM under maintenance/warranty. The battery
monitoring system shall be capable of monitoring up to sixty (60) six
volt or twelve volt batteries connected as a single string or two
strings of batteries in parallel. The battery monitoring system shall
make battery measurements at a rate of approx. 100 readings per second
and have a system of visual and audible alarm for battery voltage
outside the preset tolerance ranges. The monitoring system shall have
controls for battery monitoring, be programmable, and have LCD display.
The system shall have alarm history stored in memory. The battery
monitoring system shall come with a minimum of one year warranty.
Because the IPM DC Tracker monitoring system was designed and built by
IPM as an integrated subsystem for the BP+, and is the only battery
monitor designed to interface directly with the BP+, the Government
considers the item specified as a sole source from International Power
Machines c/o Hodgson Enterprises, Inc., 10040 Moore Street,
Westminster, CO 80021 and proposes to negotiate a contract with that
firm on that basis. However, should additional sources be identified,
they will be considered. Firms who feel that they can furnish the
required item or its functional equivalent (based upon the criteria
specified herein) are invited to submit in writing an affirmative
response to this announcement. An affirmative response would include
literature, brochures and such other materials which correspond to the
required items stated herein. This information will be evaluated and
used to determine if competitive opportunities exist. Since no
solicitation document exists, requests for such documents without
accompanying information will be considered non-responsive to this
request without further consideration. This notice may represent the
Government's only official notice of this procurement. (0235) Loren Data Corp. http://www.ld.com (SYN# 0215 19950824\61-0007.SOL)
