SOLICITATION NOTICE WILL BE PUBLISHED BEFORE INVITATIONS ARE ISSUED.
THIS PROJECT INVOLVES REMOVAL OF ASBETOS MATERIALS. The work includes
removal of all existing partitions, freezers, reefers, kitchen
equipment, ceilings, floor finishes, HVAC ductwork, electrical, air
handling units and plumbing from the Galley area. Renovate existing
loading dock and receiving area. Remove all asbestos insulation from
the pipes within the Galley and underneath the Galley in the
crawlspace. Provide new partition walls consisting of metal studs,
cement board and ceramic tile, floor tile and setting bed for the
Galley area, standard partition walls, carpet and wall finishes for the
Administration area and carpet and wall finish for the Dining area.
Provide new HVAC equipment as shown on the construction documents.
Provide new exhaust hoods, ductwork, controls, etc for a complete
working mechanical system. Provide new plumbing, including new
restrooms, to service all required fixtures. The work also includes
reworking the existing fire sprinkler system. Provide new lighting
throughout the Galley, Administration and Dining areas, new power, new
fire alarm system and new electrical service as shown on the
construction documents. Provide new kitchen equipment, all required
connections and new serving line equipment as shown on the construction
documents. The Galley will be abandoned during construction, except for
a portion of the Dining Room. A temporary space will be constructed
within the Dining Room to house the diet line equipment. This equipment
will be utilized to serve meals to hospital patients during the
construction period. The contractor shall move the existing diet line
equipment to this area and relocate the equipment back to the Galley
towards the end of the renovation project. There is a phasing plan in
the construction documents which provides additional information
concerning the phases of the project. Following tentative dates apply:
Issue invitations 8/95, open bids 10/95, complete contract 10/96.
