A Source seeking synopsis is being conducted to find sources interested
in painting approximately 6 to 21 B52H aircraft beginning March 1997.
Approximately 50% will be full strip and 50% will require scuffsand.
Contractor must have a runway which will accommodate the width of B-52
tip gear (149 feet). The stripping and/or painting facility must
accommodate the physical size of the B-52. Wing tip to wing tip is 185
feet. Nose to tail is 160 feet. Ground to top of tail is 41 feet.
Ground to top of fuselage is 18 feet. The aircraft may be ``crabbed''
into facility and vertical tail may be removed from the aircraft. The
existing primer (either polysolfide or koroflex) and topcoat
(polyurethane) are to be removed. Some areas will require masking.
Primer coating to be applied is TT-P-2760 to all bare surfaces.
Polyurethane topcoat to be applied over primer. USAF standard markings
and decals are to be applied as well. Please reply in writing to Ken
