70 -- REQUEST FOR COMMERCIAL OFF-THE-SHELF (COTS) DATA The Reliability Analysis Center (RAC), which is sponsored by the Defense Technical Information Center (DTIC) and operated by IIT Research Institute (IITRI) for over 20 years, is the DoD Information Analysis Center (IAC) for the collection, analysis and dissemination of reliability and maintainability data. As part of this charter, the RAC is actively soliciting sources of COTS reliability (MTBF, useful life, etc.), and failure modes and mechanisms data resulting from the use of COTS equipment in military or commercial applications. The major equipment categories of interest include (1) Computers (PCs, workstations, embedded), (2) Signal Processors (card level, multichip modules), (3) Displays (workstation, graphics), (4) Printers (laser, inkjet, impact), (5) Power Supplies (low & high voltage, UPS), (6) Radio Communications (telephone, Cellular, fax, transceiver, GPS, modems, answering machines), (7) Data Storage (hard, floppy and optical disks, tape), and (8) Video (TV, monitors, Head-Up Displays).
