This is a notice of intent to request a Quote and negotiate with Scitech Corporation 2332 Fourth Street, Berkeley, CA 94710-2402 on an other than full and open competitive basis for the purchase of one portable x-ray fluorescence (XRF) spectrum analyzer. Scitech Corporation has been identified as the only responsable source with the required accuracy and data defensibility. Due to the possible high costs of abatement and the risk to life and health that may result from inaccurate readings, the accuracy and the defensibility of the data of this portable XRF is paramount. The specifications for accuracy shall be 0.05 mg/cm2 or better across common substrates on National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) Standards at maximum measurment time. This will be a firm-fixed price contract. This aquisition will be processed in accordance with Simplified Acquisition Procedures.
