Bldg. 452, Richmond, CA 94804 A -- RANGING SENSORS The University of California' PATH Program is
seeking vendors who are interested in supplying ranging sensors for
testing our longitudinal vehicle control system. The objective of the
longitudinal vehicle controller is to control the relative spacing of
a motor vehicle with respect to the vehicle immediately ahead of it
regulating the throttle and/or brakes. The ranging sensor will
interface with the longitudinal controller. The estimates of range and
range rate obtained by the ranging sensor will be passed to the
longitudinal vehicle control sysem for adjusting the speed of the
trailing vehicle. A Request for Information will be sent to potential
interested parties with a response date of September 22, 1995. If your
