Agriculture, Food Safety and Inspection Service (FSIS) has a
requirement for insulated containers to be used in the overnight
shipment of meat, poultry, and egg samples from inspection plants to
FSIS Laboratories nationwide. Containers must be capable of maintaining
frozen samples (0F start temperature) at 28F and refrigerated samples
(34F start temperature) at less than 50F, for at least 20 hours. Dry
ice may not be used for control of sample's temperature. FSIS is
interested in purchasing approximately 4,000 low cost, reusable (5 - 10
round trips), stackable, containers that meet all overnight carrier and
U.S. Department of Transportation shipping requirements. Program
requirements and performance specifications will be available on/about
August 28, 1995. Requests for copies shall be made in writing and may

intends to award this procurement under the Simplified Acquisition
