Johnson Engineering Corporation (JE) is a prime contractor (NAS 9-18800) to the National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) at Johnson Space Center (JSC). JE is seeking qualified suppliers to provide two (2) Single Pass Water Cooled Chiller Units based on the following minimum requirements: (1) Cooling Capacity. 180,000 Btu/hr. @ 68 degrees F liquid discharge temperature (2) System Design Requirements. Open loop, potable water system; Output flow rate = 80 gph; Outlet temperature = 35 - 40 degrees F, stability of +/- 1.5 degrees F; Continuous operation, 8 hrs/day, 5 days/wk, ambient temperature = 90 degrees F; Gross Weight not to exceed 5000 lbs. ea., Footprint = width of 104 inches, a depth of 30 inches and a height of 60 inches; Cooling tank, evaporator, gauges, pumps and cabinet shall be manufactured of non-corrosive materials e.g., stainless steel, bronze,brass, or copper; 100 gallon capacity cooling tank and evaporator; Vibration isolation (3) System Inputs. Facility water input temperature = 70 degrees F, Plumbing interfaces (in and out) = 1-1/2 inch male NPT; Supply power = 460/60/3, 39 amps and (4) System Accessories. Dial Thermometer range of 35 to 90 degrees F; Agitation pump operating at 45 gpm @ 40 psig to prevent freezing. Interested sources are requested to submit a Statement of Capabilities (SOC) necessary to provide the Chillers described above. Include with the SOC the following information: Business status (Small, Large, Disadvantaged/Woman Owned). Include any additional information that you feel is necessary to demonstrate your company capability to perform the work.
