Soderstrom, (202) 685-3160 PRE-SOLICITATION NOTICE. The proposed acquisition listed herein is being considered for 100% Set-Aside for Small Disadvantaged Business firms. Interested SDB concerns should notify this office, in writing, of their intention to bid the project as a prime contractor as early as possible, but not later than 15 days from the date of this notice. The notification must contain a positive statement of eligibility as a small socially and economically disadvantaged business concern; evidence of capacity to obtain required bonds for the period specified for bid opening and specific information which demonstrates the capability to perform projects of this nature and magnitude. If adequate interest is not received from SDB concerns, the solicitation will be issued as an unrestricted procurement without further notice. Therefore, replies to this notice are requested from all firms including large businesses. Interested parties will be put on the plan holders list and issued an IFB when available. The Standard Industrial Classification Code for this project is 1541. The size standard is $17 Million. The work includes correcting exterior storm water drainage deficiencies, fire protection, plumbing and electrical service, adding fire detection and alarm system, refinishing laboratory casework, limited asbestos and lead paint remediation and incidental related work. An additive bid item also includes providing a total window replacement of the windows currently in the facility including removal and reinstallation of window A/C units and providing and installing new A/C units brackets. Contractors within the local are encouraged to pick-up a copy of the solicitation at Building 212, 1st Floor, Plans/Specs Office at the Washington Navy Yard.
