The work includes renovations of an existing one story training building to serve as a computer data center. The work also includes cutting passageways and installing lintels in existing reinforced concrete masonry unit walls, cutting existing floor slab for installation of new drain systems and constructing concrete ramps near each building entrance to permit access of handicapped persons, raised computer access flooring, new ceilings, new computer room cooling units with two air cooled chillers and two backup air-cooled chillers, chilled water pumps and piping including insulation and controls. Modifications to steam piping with a new steam to water heat exchanger and new hot water pumps, piping, insulation and controls to satisfy increased heating load requirements. Minor plumbing modifications will be made. The fire suppression system will be converted from a wet system to a pre-action system. New lighting, power distribution, fire alarm system and communications systems will be installed, the electrical power service capacity upgraded and a new UPS and emergency generator system will be installed. The work also includes incidental related work. The proposed acquisition herein is being considered for 100% Set-Aside for Small Disadvantaged Business (SDB) Concerns. Interested SDB Concerns should notify this office in writing, Attn: Code 0211JL of their intention to bid the project as prime contractor as early as possible but NO LATER THAN 28 AUGUST 1995. This notification must include a positive statement of eligibility as a small socially and economically disadvantaged business concern, evidence of capacity to obtain required bonds and specific information which demonstrates the capability to perform projects of this complexity and magnitude. Complete information concerning management experience in similar work and financial status should be submitted with references. If adequate interest is not received from SDB Concerns, the solicitation will be issued on an UNRESTRICTED basis. In either event, an amended synopsis will be issued indicating set-aside decision.
