SOL 52SBNB5C8831 DUE 093095 POC Stacy Bostjanick (301) 975-5053 The National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) intends to negotiate on a sole source basis under the authority of 41 USC 253 (c)(1). The supplies and services required by the Agency are available from only one responsible source and no other supplier will satisfy the needs of the Agency. It is anticipated to negotiate with the sole provider, Sun Microsystems Laboratories, Inc., 2550 Garcia Avenue, Mountain View, CA 94043 for the development of formal test specifications and test cases using ADL and TDD, ADL software, and documentation for a conformance testing system to support testing of implementations IPI-PIKS. The conformance testing system involves development of formal test specifications, test cases, software, and documentation to test implementations of ISO/IEC IS 12087, Information technology, Computer graphics and image processing, Image processing and interchange (IPI), specifically The Programmer's Image Kernel System (PIKS) foundation profile. Interested offerors may identify their interest and capability to respond to the requirements by submitting a capability statement. The capability statement must provide adequate information to allow evaluation of the personnel qualifications and corporate experience in this area. All of the above must be provided for the Government to consider whether to open this requirement for competitiion. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive proposals. However, all ''capability statements'' received within 45 days after the date of this publication in the Commerce Business Daily will be considered by the Government. A solicitation is not available.
