This notification constitutes the only notification of the Bureau of Indian Affairs (BIA), to procure software maintenance for an information access and reporting tool for the Unisys A17 mainframe in support of current applications. This software is EZSPEC/DARGAL and possesses certain qualities to fulfill the BIA requirement. These qualities are as follows: 1.) Is able to access all file types currently used on the A17: DMSII, ISAM, and Flat, through ALGOL compiled interface routines; 2.) Allows output to all system devices: Disk, Printer, Workstation, and PC Disk, and PC Printer. Output is also able to be formatted in different file and data structures, (i.e., ASCII, EBCDIC, etc); 3.) Provides security access by individual usercode for access to certain files or databases on the system. Security is provided from the file level down to the individual elements of data; 4.) Is able to create new output fields to stratify data, total data, or perform mathematical computations to the data; 5.) Is capable of altering and arranging data into complicated structures to create charts, graphs, and diagrams; 6.) Is capable of running queries through the system queue to avoid tying up terminals for long jobs; 7.) Is capable of producing output that can be printed using pre-printed forms, plain paper, or mailing labels; 8.) Is capable of accumulating data in a three-dimensional spreadsheet workspace where users can display, print, sort or rearrange the data; 9.) Is capable of using internal financial and statistical functions; 10.) Provides a number of Standard report formats to ease end-user computing; 11.) Is capable of using in-memory look-up; tables (Conversion Tables).
