66 -- NITROGEN GAS CRYOSTREAM COOLER INCLUDES: CRYOSTREAM COLDHEAD, PROGRAMMABLE TEMPERATURE CONTROLLER, GAS PUMP TUBSET AND COOLHEAD CABLE, REACTION HEATER AND PUMPING ADAPTER. SOL NIH-NIDDK-95-113 DUE 082895 POC Desiree Kelly, Purchasing Agent 301-594-8831. The National Institutes of Health (NIH) National Institute of Diabetes and Digestive and Kidney Diseases (NIDDK) intends to purchase through a Request for Quotation (RFQ) Nitrogen Gas Cryostream Cooler. The Oxford Cryostream cooler is used for low temperature data collection in X-ray diffraction experiments with protein crystals. The cryostream cooler must be able to supply dry nitrogen gas stream of programmable temperature range 80 to 375 K. The temperature controlling unit must be programmable and capable of controlling to + 0.1 K. The temperature controlling unit must be able to faciltate for temperature ramps, planteaus and combined ramps/plateaus so that automatic data collections at different temperatures can be accomplished. The temperature controlling unit must have a built in RS232 interface to allow it to be interrogated or programmed remotely. The liquid N2 usage must be approximately 0.6 1/hour or less. The cooler head must be small ((10cm diameter, (50cm long), portable, and supplied with a support stand equipped with a translation stage with adjustable angle. The cryo-transfer tubing conencting the cooler head and liqud N2 storage vessel must be flexible and 130 cm or longer. The cryo-transfer must be compatible with the existing X-ray generator, monochrometer, mirror box and detector unit, and their geometrical arrangement within a tightly confined space. The Institute intends to purchase this equipment by Other Full and Open Competition from the Oxford Cryosystems. The intended source Oxford Cryosystems is the manufacture of the Nitrogen Gas Cryostream cooler, and guarentees complete integratio of the cryostream cooler which must be compatible with the exisiting x-ray generator, monchrometer, mirror box and detector unit, and their genometical arrangement within a tightly confined space. All responsible sources may submit a Request For Quotation, which if timely received, shall be considered by the agency. (See Note 22). It is anticipated that Request For Quotation (RFQ) Number NIDDK-SSAS-95-113, will be available fifteen (15) days after the publication date of this synopsis. Receipt of quotations will be due ten (10) days after the release of the RFQ. The anticipated award date is August 28, 1995. Requests for copies of the RFQ must be in writing and may be requested by FAX (301)-480-4226. Quotations must be submitted in writing to the National Institutes of Diabetes and Digestive and Kidney Diseases (NIDDK) The Natcher Building, Room 6AN32 45 Center Drive MSC 6600 Bethesda, Maryland 20892-6600 Attention: Desiree Kelly FAX quotations will only be accepted if dated and signed by an authorized company representative.
