D. KLIMENT, Tel:713-483-4168 The NASA Lyndon B. Johnson Space Center
has an immediate requirement for refurbishment, acceptance testing, and
delivery of 4 toggle valves for use on the Simplified Aid for EVA
Rescue (SAFER) system developed at the NASA Lyndon B. Johnson Space
Center. Utilization of the original vendor of this manned space flight
qualified hardware, which was developed by Carleton Technologies, is
necessary for NASA's endeavors. Continuity of design and performance is
required, because the SAFER system was certified for flight using these
toggle valves, and identical replacement items are required for this
mission activity. Therefore, it is NASA's intention to award a contract
for this work to Carleton Technologies, within 5 working days of the
close of this announcement. These valves must meet the design and
performance requirements of Carleton part no. 1-4-00-51-37. They must
be acceptance tested to demonstrate conformance with Carleton
Acceptance Test Procedure (ATP) 3341 rev. F, excepting vibration and
thermal cycling. All soft goods must be replaced, including both
standard O-rings and proprietary materials and processes. Further
interested parties may identify their interest and capability to
respond to the requirement by submitting a written response to the
Contracting Officer within 15 days of publication of this notice. The
Contracting Officer, Marie D. Kliment, can be reached at (713)
483-4168. Requests for the additional technical
information/specifications can be obtained by contacting the Technical
Representative for this project, Bill Studak at (713) 483-9029.
