The U.S. Postal Service Logistics system group is interested in identifying potential vendors of pre-packed software for vehicle fleet routing, scheduling, and performance analysis. Any proposed solutions should have a client/server architecture and run on IBM compatible personal computer systems. The software should include the following functionality: Maintain a database of drivers, vehicles, service points, service schedules and routes, with capabilities to build/optimize routes. Interface via a standard COM port to download data from driver-carried collection devices which collect ASCII data for actual arrival/departure times and truck-load content information. Provide a set of tools for analyzing planned vs. actual performance for scheduled routes. Provide multiple levels of user priviledges allowing different user groups to perform different sets of system functions. System should also include an easy to use report generation utility.
