The Marine Corps Systems Command is seeking capability statements from firms that are interested in the proposed procurement for a family of tactical soft shelters (FTSS) intended to replace the existing General Purpose (GP) medium tents and Command Post (CP) tents. The tactical soft shelters shall be modular in design and able to connect to tracked and wheeled vehicles, ISO shelters, sheltered command post vehicles and tracked command post vehicles. They must also have rapid erect/strike capabilities and blackout capabilities. Floor space shall be maximized by eliminating center poles. The usable square footage for the basic module/configuration (GP Configuration) is 120-150 sq ft. The useable square footage for the CP configuration is 512-530 sq ft. The basic module/configuration shall not exceed a gross sq footage of 650 sq feet. The FTSS shall have a weight to floor space ratio not to exceed .68 kg per .09 square meters. The anchoring system shall be compatible for use on soil, asphalt, and expeditionary matting. The FTSS shall be able to withstand wind of 89 KPH and snow loads of 4.5 kg per .09 square meter, and temperatures ranging from -25 to 125 degrees Fahrenheit. Monthly production quantities are estimated to be approximately 144 units of each type. The Marine Corps is surveying the market to determine if this requirement should be unrestricted.
