COMMERCE BUSINESS DAILY ISSUE OF AUGUST 8,1995 PSA#1405National Aeronautics and Space Administration, Goddard Space Flight
Center, Wallops Flight Facility, Wallops Island, VA 23337 58 -- SUBCARRIER DEMODULATOR SOL 822-37050-0000/712 DUE 090195 POC
Billie R. Blackwell, 804/824-1431/Contracting Officer, Darlene B.
Floyd, 804/824-1410. Subcarrier Binary Phase Shift Key (BPSK)
Demodulator--2 each. Shall meet the following specifications: All
parameters shall be totally controllable, configurable, and monitorable
both locally and remotely via an RS-232 interface. Subcarrier
frequency, data bandwidth, loop bandwidth, and input source selection
shall be selectable via thumbwheel switches on the front panel. BPSK
subcarrier phase error, phase lock, and voltage control oscillator
(VCO) frequency deviation shall be monitorable via front panel meters
and remotely via an RS-232 interface. Test points shall be provided for
monitoring composite input signals, regenerated BPSK carrier,
demodulated baseband outputs, and dynamic phase error voltage. No
internal adjustments shall be required to meet the performance
specifications over the full range of operation. Subcarrier Frequency:
The subcarrier frequency shall be selectable by both thumbwheel
switches on the front panel and remotely via the RS-232 interface and
shall range from 500 Hz to 4MHz in 10Hz increments. Data Bandwidth: The
data bandwidth shall range from 100Hz to 4MHz in 100Hz increments and
shall be selected by both front panel thumbwheel switches and remotely
via the RS-232 interface. Loop Bandwidth: The loop bandwidth shall
range from 1Hz to 10 KHz in 1Hz increments and shall be selected via
both front panel thumbwheel switches and remotely via the RS-232
interface. Carrier to Bandwidth Ratio: The carrier to bandwidth ratio
shall not exceed 1,000. Input Impedance: The input impedance shall be
50 ohms or greater than 20,000 ohms (two separate inputs). Input
Selection: The input source (minimum of two, each with high and low
impedances) shall be selectable by both front panel thumbwheel switch
and remotely via the RS-232 interface. Input Level: The level of input
signal shall be a 0.1 to 10 volts peak-to-peak signal plus noise. D.C.
Offset: The input D.C. offset shall be up to 30 volts D.C. combined
offset including signal peaks. This will not cause any degradation in
the demodulator performance. Carrier Tracking Range: The carrier
tracking range shall be plus or minus 2 times the selected loop
bandwidth. Signal-to-Noise Performance: The signal-to-noise ratio
necessary to maintain demodulator lock is 6dB (as measured at the noise
reference bandwidth at the information rate). Modulation: The
modulation type shall be BPSK with suppressed carrier. Dynamic Phase
Error Output: The dynamic phase error output shall range from 0 to 0.5
volts peak-to-peak and shall be monitorable by a front panel meter.
Outputs: Demodulator Output #1--1 volt peak-to-peak, into 50 ohms;
Demodulator Output #2--1 volt peak-to-peak, into 50 ohms; Subcarrier
Monitor-- 0.5 volts peak-to-peak; Lock--(in) nominal +5 volts
Transistor Transistor Logic (TTL), (out) nominal 0 volts TTL.
Input/Output Connectors: The input and output connectors shall be BNC
female. Electrical Characteristics: Voltage--105-125 VAC, 50-60 Hz,
single-phase; Current--1.5 amps maximum; Power--150 watts.
Environmental (Operating) Specifications: Temperature-- 0 degrees to 60
degrees C; Relative Humidity--up to 95% without condensation.
Mechanical: Units maximum size cannot exceed 5.25'' vertical rack
height; Unit must be in a standard EIA-19'' rack mountable case. This
synopsis is being issued to solicit quotations from vendors desiring to
furnish the above described item to the Government at the address set
forth below. Written quotation in response to this Request for
