This public notice is to request suppliers to provide NTT with general referential information on similar products or technology prior to procurement of the intended product (mentioned below) by NTT. This public notice is also to request that any suppliers wishing to participate as a subcontractor in the procurement program of this product should declare their intentions to that effect. This public notice is not intended to guarantee public notification of procurement of the product. (1) Name: Transmission characteristics measuring equipment. (2) Overview: The equipment is used to measure the delay characteristics and amplitude characteristics of lines and transmitter receivers of 4,5,6,11, and 15 GHz band digital radio systems and 14/12 GHz band satellite communication systems. This equipment consists of the IF transmission characteristics measuring equipment, the RF transmission characteristics measuring equipment and RF measuring section. The IF transmission characteristics measuring equipment measures the characteristics of 4,5,6,11, and 15 GHz band digital radio transmitter-receivers and 14/12 GHz band satellite communication equipment in IF band and can measure the following: (a) -Amplitude characteristics and delay characteristics of transmitter-receivers in IF band. (b) -Amplitude characteristics and delay characteristics of trunk lines in IF band. The transmitting section and the receiving section have GP-IB and RS-232C interfaces. The RF transmission characteristics measuring equipment is used in combination with a specified RF measuring section, and measures the amplitude characteristics and delay characteristics of RF frequency band in combination with the IF transmission characteristics measuring equipment. Furthermore, the equipment can deliver RF signals modulated in amplitude to 200k Hz, in combination with an external 200k Hz oscillator. The transmitting section and the receiving section have GP-IB and RS-232C interfaces. The RF measuring section measures the amplitude characteristics and delay characteristics of RF frequency band, in combination with the RF transmission characteristics measuring equipment. The transmitting section and the receiving section have GP-IB and RS-232c interfaces. Operating Environment Ambient temperature 10 to 40 deg.c. (3) Estimated procurement quantity: about 15 sets/year (This quantity is the current estimate; however, it may change during public notification of procurement.) (4) Description of the Request for Information: Applicants are requested to supply NTT with the following information on similar products, or on technology relating, to the product previously-mentioned above. (However, entire supplied information will be regarded as non-secret information and may be disclosed to third parties in the form of, for example, inclusion in the corresponding Procurement Documentation, or may become available to third parties. (5) Request for Declaration of the Intention of Subcontracting: Any suppliers wishing to participate as a subcontractor in the product procurement program of NTT are requested to supply NTT with the information listed below. After preparing a list of supplied information, NTT will provide the list to applicants interested in obtaining it; to those who have responded to the request for supply of the information listed in Item (4); and to those who have purchased the Procurement Documentation to procurement of the product. However, NTT will not assume any responsibility for possible outcomes arising from supply of the list.
