212/661-0810 also NTT America Inc., Pacific and Western Division 800 El
Camino Real West, Suite 103 Mountain View, CA 94040, 415/940-6565. This
public notice is to request suppliers to provide NTT with general
referential information on similar products or technology prior to
procurement of the intended product (mentioned below) by NTT. This
public notice is also to request that any suppliers wishing to
participate as a subcontractor in the procurement program of this
product should declare their intentions to that effect. This public
notice is not intended to guarantee public notification of procurement
of the product. (1) Name: Bit error measuring equipment. (2) Overview:
This measuring equipment measures the bit error rate and noise margin
in a digital radio circuit and its components. This equipment,
consisting of the transmitter, the receiver, noise generator and clock
generator, measures the bit error rates of unipolar patterns. The
transmitter generates 215-1 bit and 223-1 bit pseudo random patterns
with the feedback shift register and provides: 6 sets of eight channels
of unipolar pattern output and one clock output (output signal 1); 1
set of three channels of unipolar pattern output and one clock output
(output signal 2); 1 set of one channel of unipolar pattern output and
one clock output (output signal 3); 1 set of two channels of unipolar
pattern output and one clock output (output signal 4). The receiver
receives the eight channels of unipolar pattern output and one clock
output (input signal 1); or the three channels of unipolar pattern
output and one clock output (input signal 2); or the one channel of
unipolar pattern output and one clock output (input signal 3); or the
two channels of unipolar pattern output and one clock output (input
signal 4). It then compares the bits received over all channels with
the reference pseudo random pattern synchronized with 215-1 and 223-1
bits, and detects the errors simultaneously. It counts and displays the
errors detected in each channel, and at the same time, it counts and
displays the total errors received over any channel. It also functions
to count the error pulses that were input externally, and displays the
detected errors as bit error rates. It functions as a recorder to
record the measured results. The transmitter and receiver provide GP-IB
and RS-232C interfaces; sets all major switches, except for the power
switch, and output the measured data. The noise generator is used to
measure the noise margin of the repeater equipment. It generates gauss
noise and adds it to the main signals in the intermediate frequency
band, and changes the S/N ratio by altering the noise level. A band
pass filter is inserted into the noise, as required. The clock
generator provides a clock to the equipment equipped with an external
clock input terminal. Operating Environment Ambient temperature 10 to
40 deg.c (3) Estimated procurement quantity: about 10 sets/year (This
quantity is the current estimate; however, it may change during public
notification of procurement.) 4. Description of the Request for
Information: Applicants are requested to supply NTT with the following
information on similar products, or on technology relating, to the
product previously-mentioned above. (However, entire supplied
information will be regarded as non-secret information and may be
disclosed to third parties in the form of, for example, inclusion in
the corresponding PROCUREMENT DOCUMENTATION, or may become available to
third parties. Regardless in such cases, NTT will not assume any
responsibility for possible outcomes arising from the management,
disclosure, or use of the supplied information.) (i) Technical
information: (i) -a. Measurement Range, (i) -b. Measurement Accuracy,
(i) -c. Output Conditions. (ii) Prices: Price per unit. (iii) Standard
time of delivery after ordering (iv) Sales Records (v) Others (Active
proposals likely to become useful for increasing the businesses of
NTT) (v) -a. Demonstrating the manner and the period of dealing with
equipment breakdown, and the manner and the period of maintenance (v)
-b. Spontaneous proposals that will be of interest to NTT. (5) Request
for Declaration of the Intention of Subcontracting: Any suppliers
wishing to participate as a subcontractor in the product procurement
program of NTT are requested to supply NTT with the information listed
below. After preparing a list of supplied information, NTT will
provide the lists to applicants interested in obtaining it; to those
who have responded to the request for supply of the information listed
in Item (4); and to those who have purchased the PROCUREMENT
DOCUMENTATION to procurement of the product. However, NTT will not
assume any responsibility for possible outcomes arising from supply of
the list. (i) Name of the applicant (ii) Place of contact (Address,
name of the person in charge, telephone number, and facsimile number)
