(206) 615-2454. PRE-SOLICITATION NOTICE: Work to be performed consists
of furnishing all labor, materials, and equipment to replace the
existing generator paralleling gear, automatic transfer switches,
adding generator annunciators and time delay relays to designated
motors at the Yukon-Kuskokwim Delta Regional Hospital, Bethel, AK. The
plans are dimensioned using International System of Units (SI)
(Metric) ''soft conversion'' wherein metric equivalents are substituted
for standard inch-pound measurements.-- The estimated price is between
$250,000 and $500,000. The period of performance is 180 days. -- Bid
documents will be available on about September 25, 1995, at the
HHS/PHS/Office of Engineering Services, address listed above. -- The
proposed contract listed herein is set aside for 100% Indian-owned,
controlled, and operated firms under the authority of the Buy Indian
Act. In accordance with the Public Health Service Acquisition
Regulation Paragraph 380.503(e), not more than fifty (50) percent of
the work to be performed under a prime contract awarded pursuant to the
Buy Indian Act shall be subcontracted to other than Indian firms. For
this purpose, work to be performed does not include the provision of
materials, supplies, or equipment. Contractors should indicate whether
they are a 100% or 51% Indian-owned and controlled firm, and their
interest in bidding as a prime or subcontractor. Inadequate responses
from 100% Indian prime contractors or Indian subcontractors, or both,
by August 31, 1995, may cause this Indian Set-aside decision to be
reconsidered either as a 51% Buy Indian Set-aside, if there is
sufficient interest, or if there is insufficient interest by 51% Indian
owned firms, an unrestricted procurement issued under the Small
Business Competitiveness Demonstration Program.-- Bids will be opened
at 2:00 p.m., local time, at the Office of the Alaska Resident
Engineer, 4391 Diplomacy Drive, Anchorage, AK 99508. All responsible
sources may submit a bid which shall be considered by the agency.
