99 -- ECUADOR: S847900 IMPROVE THE PHYSICAL CHARACTERISTICS, MAINTAIN AND ADMINISTER THE ALOAG-SANTO DOMINGO DE LOS COLORADOS ROAD SOL CONCESION DE OBRA DE LA VIA ALOAG-SANTO DOMINGO DE LOS COLORADOS082995 DUE 082995 POC Tel 011/593/2/565-617, UPON PAYMENT OF NON-REFUNDABLE The Provincial council of Pichincha invites interested national and/or foreign companies, alone or in consortia, to submit bids for the concession to improve the physical characteristics, maintain and administer the aloag-santo domingo de los colorados road the concession calls for the following General obligations 1) maintain the road periodically in a distance of 97 km from aloag to santo domingo de los colorados; 2) install and provide the following Basic services for the user ambulances and first aid, tow trucks, security control, rest and food areas which must operate 24 hours per day; 3) carry out the definitive and complete design to improve, rectify, and expand the road reducing the distance between aloag and santo domingo de los colorados and considering at least two circulation lanes each way; 4) install permanent signaling systems; 5) invest the necessary financial resources (approx U S.D. 120 million) to build, rectify, improve, equip and maintain the road; 6) the concessionaire will recuperate its investment from toll and publicity on the road bid terms can be obtained from the Departamento de Sindicatura Del H Consejo Provincial de Pichincha, Calle Manuel Larrea y Arenas, Piso 2, Quito, Ecuador, fax 011/593/2/565-660, U S.D. 8,000 or its equivalent in sucres.
