Contracting Officer, 208/828-2664. The contractor shall furnish all
plant, labor, supplies, equipment, transportation, and supervision
necessary to perform all operations in connection with the Repair of
Aircraft Hangar 1333. The work includes complete demolition of the
interior of a 22,400 square foot aircraft hangar except for three small
rooms. The project includes asbestos abatement. Once the demolition has
been completed new offices and classrooms shall be constructed.
Selected walls will have sound insulation. New carpet and new suspended
ceilings shall be installed. In addition, the project includes the
installation of a new Aqueos Film Forming Foam (AFFF) fire protection
system for the hangar and new fire protection system for the
office/classroom area. There are several places where slab replacement
is necessary inside and out of the hangar. The project includes
restoration of the hangar doors and door tracks, installation of 24''
and 12'' drain pipe, new HVAC system, and a new lighting system. The
floor shall receive a CRU coating. The new HVAC shall be tied into a
new Direct Digital Control (DDC) system. The magnitude of this project
is between $1,000,000 and $5,000,000. The total performance period for
this project is 180 calendar days after the issuance of the Notice to
Proceed. Requests for solicitation must be in writing and include
address, telephone number, facsimile number, business type (small,
large, or small disadvantaged business). This action is being
considered for 100% set-aside for small disadvanaged business (SDB)
concerns. Interested SDB concerns should notify our office, in writing,
of their intention to bid on the project as a prime contractor as early
as possible but no later than 14 Aug 95. This notification must include
a positive statement of eligibility, certification certificate as proof
of SDB or DBE status as a small socially and economically disadvantaged
business concern and evidence of the capability to perform projects of
this complexity and magnitude. Complete information concerning
management experience in similar work and financial status should be
submitted with references. If adequate interest is not received from
SDB concerns, the solicitation will be issued on an unrestricted basis
without further notice. Project requirements will be made available on
