furnishing of all labor, materials and equipment for performing all
work necessary for the replacement or repair and alteration as
specified at the Butler PA Main Post Office, 345 S Main St. The work
includes but is not limited to the following: the removal and
replacement of all the existing asphalt paved areas and the concrete
curb and sidewalk at the entrance and exit driveways; installation of
new pavement line painting along with new signage and posts; removal of
all existing concrete wheel stops and replacement with concrete islands
or wooden bumpers on steel H-columns; the existing H-columns with
electrical outlets shall remain and be painted-check the condition of
the electric service at each outlet and repair if necessary; the
existing parking pole lights shall have their present ballasts and
lamps removed and replaced with high efficiency ballasts and low noise
high pressure sodium lamps; clean, repair and clear the existing
drains and inlets; remove the existing concrete apron and pit dock
levelers adjacent to the mailing platform-install a new concrete apron;
provide and install two new dock levelers at mailing platform,
including electrical work, concrete work and new bumpers; repair cracks
in mailing platform slab and add a new railing at the platform
stair-paint new railing; repair cracks in post office rear concrete
block wall-repair wall scupper and leader at rear wall; sandblast post
office rear concrete block wall and concrete retaining wall at
perimeter of parking lot, including removal of existing painted
signage-repaint post office rear concrete block wall; the concrete
shadow block wall at the perimeter of the parking lot is to be removed
down to its foundation, as detailed-provide and install a new
ornamental metal railing set into a new concrete base cap atop the
existing foundation-new split-face concrete block entrance and corner
posts are to be built as detailed; replace the lamps and ballasts in
the existing fixtures at the mailing platform and replace the existing
arm mounted fixtures at the platform canopy edge-the new lamps shall
be high pressure sodium lamps in wattages equal to the existing lamp
wattages within the existing fixtures. The estimated price range is
between $175,000.00 and $250,000.00 with completion within 120 calendar
days after receipt of the Notice to Proceed. Contractors will be
required to submit a lump-sum/fixed price sealed proposal. Proposals
are due by 5:00 PM, Wednesday, August 31, 1995. Plans and
specifications will be available on or about August 2, 1995, at a cost
