BACKGROUND: The mission of the United States Army Medical Department Center and School (AMEDD C&S), Center for Healthcare Education and Studies (CHES), is to conduct, on a worldwide basis, the AMEDD study program of the Surgeon General and to monitor and support analytical and technical studies expertise in the areas of workload measurement. Included in this mission is the formulation and maintenance of the Triservice CHAMPUS Statistical Database Project (TCSDP) and maintenance of the central design activity specifically for the Medical Analysis Support System (MASS). The MASS is an interface to the TCSDP. OPERATING ENVIRONMENT. The Medical Analysis Support System (MASS) is written entirely in the higher level software language, SAS. The SAS software is an information delivery system designed to meet data access, management, analysis, and presentation needs.
