The Naval Research Laboratory intends to negotiate on an other than full and open cometitive basis with MIDAC Corporation for a Portable Emission Spectrometer. The unique features of the MIDAC Portable Emission Spectrometer are, a.) The system will operate either from standard AC power (120 Vac, 60 Hz) or fro 12 V DC power sources. b.) The system is desiged to operate as an emission spectrometer. It is compatible for use with an external source of IR radiation. It will perform Fourier tranform infrared spectroscopy of incident infrared radiation. c.) The system will incorporated ZnSe optics. d.) The system is compatible with existing spectrum analysis software packages such as GRAMS/386. MIDAC Corporation is the only known manufacturer capable of delivering an instrument which meets all the performance requirements. The anticipated award date is 46 days from date of synopsis.
