COMMERCE BUSINESS DAILY ISSUE OF JULY 26,1995 PSA#1396Arnold Engineering Development Center, ATTN: AEDC PKP, 100 Kindel
Drive, Suite A332, Arnold AFB, TN 37389-1332 66 -- LASER TRACKING SYSTEM SOL F40650-95-B-0080 DUE 090895 POC Tony
Clayborne, Contracting Officer, (615)454-5174. This requirement is for
a laser tracking system and miscellaneous items. The laser tracking
system shall be; single beam, self contained, portable laser system
capable of taking measurements by tracking a remote target and
expressing the results in cartesian coordinates rleative to a part
coordinate system established by setting zero in each axis of the laser
system relative to the desired coordinate system. System must be
accurate within plus or minus .0035 inches in each axis independently
to a distance of 30 feet. Linear accuracy will be verified by a H-P
5526 laser system, volumetric accuracy will be verified by ball-bar.
System must repeat X, Y, Z coordinates within plus or minus .0015 inch
at a distance of 20 feet. The system shall be a Chesapeake Model #
LTI-4000 or equal and meet the following salient characteristics:
Horizontal angle of working range, 270 degrees or greater; Vertical
angle of working range, plus or minus 45 degrees; Internal automatic
leveling, the system must include an internal automatic leveling device
to align the system to the local gravity vector within 1 arc second;
Resolution - radial 2.5 microns, angular 1 arc-second; Tracking speed
- 2 meters per second at a range greater than 3 meters; Precision
2-axis servo-controlled tracking laser interferometer; Remote power
unit; Standard optical mounting fixture with 3.5'' X 8'' TPI threads;
Automatic temperature and barometric pressure compensation; One
spherically mounted retroreflector target; IBM compatible 486 PC,
MS-DOS operating system with PC based measurement software, 14: color
super VGA monitor, keyboard mouse and printer, PC must have slots for
both 3.5'' and 25'' disks; Software menu driven icons that work with
keyboard or mouse that include measurement routines to define circles,
lines, planes, cylinders, bolt circles, cones and spheres and
parallelism, angularity and perpindicularity; Software capability to
display and print coordiantes of a target location; Software capability
to take data continuously along a curved surface with data points sent
to files by the computer at specified intervals along any one of the
three axes; Software capability to translate data from center of target
to actual part surface with true representation of the data in the part
coordinate system; Software form and measurement evaluation in
accordance with ANSI Y14.5M Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerencing.
Miscellaneous items include the following: Sperically mounted target -
retroreflector; 1.500'' diameter tooling ball with hollow cornercube
mounted within .0005'' of center. Magnetic target nest - for use with
spherically mounted retroreflector target with a .250'' diameter pin.
Mobile work station - portable unit with castors; will accomadate pc,
monitor, keyboard, remote power unit, uninterruptible power supply,
tooling and printer. Ininterruptible power supply - 1250 va; sine wave
output; 4 X 115 vac receptacles. Operating and Maintenance manuals -
provide detailed instructions for the operation and use of the system
including software and shall include schematics down to and including
the pc-board level. Three days on-site training - three days of
instruction in the application and use of the system to be conducted at
Arnold AFB TN. The performance period will be 90 calendar days after
contractor receipt of notification of contract award. Any responsible
source may submit a bid which shall be considered. Firms responding to
this synopsis should do so in writing and indicate whether they are a
minority business concern. Foreign participation is authorized.
