perform routine Drydock and Repairs to the USCGC (BUSL 46307). The work
which may be performed includes but may not be limited to the following
minimum items: 1. Renew Buoy Deck Plating, Hatch Covers and Handrails
2. Overhaul Weight Handling Gear. 3. Test Pad Eyes and Links. 4.
Preserve Underwater Body. 5. Ultrasonic Testing. 6. Temporary
Logistics. 7. Routine Drydocking. 8. Preserve Forepeak Bilge and Renew
Plating and Framing. 9. Preserve Various Compartment Bilges and Renew
Framing. 10. Preserve Engine Room Bilge. 11. Install Depth Indicating
Transducer and Control Head. The proposed contract will also contain
indefinite items including but not limited to: 1. Welding Repairs. 2.
Renew Valve Waster Pieces. 3. Preserve Underwater Body. 4. Ultrasonic
Testing. 5. Additional Logistics. USCGC BUSL 46307's homepier is
Governors Island, NY. USCGC BUSL 46307's availability is scheduled for
on or about 23 October 1995. The performance period is thirty (30)
calendar days. This is a 100% Small Business Set-Aside. There is no
yard availability restriction. Work is to be performed atthe
contractor's facility. Solicitation (IFB) is anticipated to be issued
on or about August 03, 1995. There will be a non-refundable charge of
$50.00 required in the form of a certified check or money order made
payable to the United States Coast Guard for requested drawings and
publications. For Minority, Women-Owned and Disadvantaged Business
Enterprises: The Department of Transportation (DOT) Office of Small and
Disadvantaged Business Utilization has programs to assist minority,
women-owned and disadvantaged business enterprises to acquire
short-term working capital and bonding assistance for
transportation-related contracts. Loans are available under the DOT
Short Term Lending Program (STLP) at prime interest rates up to
$500,000 per contract to provide accounts receivable financing. DOT
Bonding Assistance Program enables firms to apply for bid, performance
and payment bonds up to $500,000 per contract. DOT provides an 80
percent guaranty on the bond amount to a surety against losses. For
